Why did you choose to align with WITPGH?

I founded WITPGH initially because I was inspired to build what I wanted to see in the world. I continue to align myself with this amazing org because I love our team and am inspired by our mission to bring innovative ideas to life and support other women in the process.

How did you become a person/woman in tech?

I was suffering financially, I felt lost professionally, and had no guidance on how to even get a career. I was afraid for my future. As I helplessly scrolled on social media, I saw other women with similar backgrounds to mine breaking into tech. I felt inspired and motivated that I could too. I didn’t even know this was an option! I used the remainder of any money I had to my name to enroll in a tech bootcamp and the rest is somewhat history.

What are your passions, in tech or out?

I’m obsessed with product management. I really love my career and telling people about what I do. I am also an avid reader. Posting up in a cafe with a good book, my laptop, my journal, and an iced matcha is my favorite way to spend my time.

What inspires or motivates you?

I love listening to other people tell me what excites them, how they stumbled onto certain ideas that make them feel in flow, and bouncing creative ideas off my friends.

What is one piece of advice for someone getting into tech?

Just keep failing and trying new things. You will pick up so many new skills along the way. At one point you will discover a career that just clicks for you. It took me several years. There are so many new tech careers out there that are being invented every day!
